Havent seen the famous CDT thread yet. Probably for the better as I will justy get crankyPhil wrote:Yep, I have them front and rear on my ZRX.
They feel fantastic to me, I have over 3500 on them and they look like they have another 2500+ left in them. In fact I will be using them on the upcomming CDT. I have never had a set of tyres last so long (that grip like that). They also feel very confidence inspiring in the wet. They will last considerably longer than the M3's
Then again I have been a Metzler man since 95 on my ol ZZR600.
would that be miles or kilometers mate? & do you figure the rear to front replacement ratio will be about 2 to 1?Phil wrote:Yep, I have them front and rear on my ZRX.

me since around 85 on my '82 GPz750 (810)...before the rear Metronic was released anywayPhil wrote:Then again I have been a Metzler man since 95 on my ol ZZR600.
i've been getting 10 to 12OOO out of a front M1...6 or 7 out of the back if i avoid highways & burnoutsNelso wrote:Phil is talking km, not miles.
I'm just about to replace my M3's on my ZRX and the front and rear are equally shagged.
those are more like the numbers i was hoping forWhickle wrote:I have about 3-3500 km on them so far and id say they are 1/3 of the way to being shagged.
does your commute involve any straights with speed...the North American prairies are a tire killer & i'd have to do 'em twiceWhickle wrote:I have the M5 on my ZRX. They are a fantastic tyre and are handling the commuting duties very well.
This is how I treat mine though. They have done a couple of long trips, a lot of weekend scratches and a couple of trackdays. I think I did alright out of them.jefflthomas wrote:i've been getting 10 to 12OOO out of a front M1...6 or 7 out of the back if i avoid highways & burnoutsNelso wrote:Phil is talking km, not miles.

the big speeds shouldnt worry the front too much. The back maybee in the heat but I'd say the Z8 Interact is made for big heavy bikes so should be no issue at all. I reckon you'd be sweet with the M5/Z8 Combo for that distance.jefflthomas wrote:those are more like the numbers i was hoping forWhickle wrote:I have about 3-3500 km on them so far and id say they are 1/3 of the way to being shagged.
