Not always.

When my bike was off the road, I had registered my car around 11AM that day over the phone. Got pulled over later that night around 10pm for un-registered.

The cops said it was definately shown as un-registered on their computers. After some discussion with the cops and my parents driving past, they turned around and came back , the cops said that 1 of them would drive my car to my house. Then Dad then asked if I could drive their car .

I had told them that as far as I was concerned it was registered and the cops would not let me drive an un-registered vehicle.

The cops said they would be back if it still showed as un-reg the next day.

Called Transport SA the next day who said it was registered and there must have been a problem with the cops computers :?

dont know about vic but in NSW coppers have a devise that picks up unregistered vechicles by just driving past them, apparently reads your number plate, goes through a computer then alerts the copper if unregistered. :o [dont think it would work on bikes unless he was to be following you] and all this only takes about 10 sec

Theives already removed it, but this "no label" doesnt happen until July so you will have to get another one issued before anyone can ride it, move it etc.
