How do you drive the price down on a brand new bike at a bike shop, i know the new model is out, but at $15,500 i would be thinking that would be already at cost price what they pay for them???? how low do you recon they'd go if i walked away $15000 flat??
ive been to 3 bike shops and its already the best price by a grand.. the 2008 model thats for sale in for sale section seems like an option, anyone know this bike???...cheers for the welcomes..

The old bikes will be on a massive runout shortly.

Don't know the black on in the for sale section.

ive found a 2008 modle ZX10R with 1800ks on the clock he wants $12450 , ive got him to 12 g but iam looking more at the 11g mark do you think this is unresonable due to the fact that the new model is out and this bike is now almost 4 yrs old, is the 2008 model the same as the 2010 model , they look cosmeticly the same with different stickers?? any one enlighten me???

They just moved the engine mounts to reposition the engine. So not identical

I sold mine for less than that with some extra bits like pipe and speedo healer etc but I did have 20K kms on it

Mate, if I was in the same position and could afford the 2010 runnout, I would get that.
You get a new bike with full warranty and no bad history. Add rego transfer and a service to the 08 and your not that far away in dollars from the 2010, plus in 3 years from now, your bike is three years old not 5 of 6.
The 2010 will drop again shortly, the dealers will need to move them and you might be able to add a few extra's within a rideaway price..... as wattie said pretty much same bike....

Pro's - handling , excellent engine and brakes , easy to push around the shed ,good mirrors , its fun to ride and makes cornering easier compared to other bike i've had.

Cons' - small 17 litre tank (200km range), no fuel guage , top part of fairing isnt as easy as it should be to remove , no storage space under seats , fuel tank cap whistles , vibrations in the bars , suspensions a bit hard on bumpy roads, fuel light flickers when y nail it, minor things really but overall 9 out of 10.
