Considering recent events.....ZX9r theft for example!
If you have a small budget, I can recommend this.
I installed it about 14 mth's ago and for the price, this basic alarm let's me sleep better at night

Look at it this way.....it's a whole lot better than NOTHING!

I guess the alarm is better than nothing, but how many people take notice of an alarm? Who can hear it in the back of a van?

There are two main types of thief, opportunists and pros.

An alarm may deter the opportunist, but never the pro.

A disc lock may deter the opportunist, but never the pro

A dirty great chain to a post/ground anchor will deter the opportunist, and may make the pro consider an easier target.

The unfortunate reality is that if some thieving scumbag wants you bike, they’re either going to get it or damage it in their attempt. I’ve heard of sound proof vans to help muffle alarms, wheels removed leaving a chained wheel behind, and liquid nitrogen used to weaken chains.

The UK market is far more flooded with sports bikes than Aus, and the market for parts is huge. With it goes stolen untraceable bikes for parts/resale.

I used three methods of security; a ground anchor and Kryptonite chain, DataTag microchips & fairing etch and Microdots. The latter two are registered and information is shared with insurance companies and the police. If the bike is stolen most parts can be tracked with these difficult to remove tags. Police had scanners that would pick up DataTag & Microdot chips, making the parts useless to crims as they are traceable. In nine years, 5 of which commuting to and parking in London, I never owned an alarm, and never had a bike stolen. I still use the chain, and if Microdot & DataTag were available here, I’d have them again. It's about making the bike unattractive to a thief.

i bought the same one, still got it in its box though

I bought one with 2 remotes, he sent me a kit with one. Told him about it and he sent me the correct one, but said it wasn't worth his time/money for me to return the incorrect one. So if someone wants one, it's yours for postage cost.

Mine only has one remote too

On the bright side it's a piece of cake to remove if you end up loosing the remote.

And it would take them quiet some time to shut mine up, it's so small.....
it's not under the set and hard to get at

My CBR600F3 was stolen litteraly from underneath me... From the carport directly below my room... I heard the bike leave... If I had an alarm like this it would have saved it

Mike, here in Australia we have a thing called data dots, very similar to your data tags I suggest. Thanks for linky Steve, see, told ya he wasn't COMPLETELY useless peoples..

Having it locked up in a secure place is ur best bet with all the relevant contraptions.....but if someone really wants it.....that will get it at any cost......i guess this is what insurance is for
