Hi.. can anyone in the know tell me how many ZXR750 K1's made it into the country?
I know they were not imported to be sold to the public, (the M1's were though???) but I'm guessing TKA bought some in for racing purposes?
Also I know at least one was imported privately.

The J, otherwise known as the ZXR 750 R (and K) models were from 1991. Kawasaki did import them into Aus and they were for sale to the public. At the time I was working at Parry's Kawasaki as a mechanic and we prepared one for a customer (as well as working on a J for another). Both were raced in NSW at the time by privateers. No idea how many K's were brought in, the number would have been very small though.

This is a new 89 model getting worked on between races at Lakeside.
We were racing up there, I can remember them because there were only a couple, & they were call the handgrenade. They use to drop their lunch all the time. Dont know if thats any help.
BTW Rob Phillis raced one fro TKA, but I think it was a 90 model. Buy I could be wrong. Have a look on his facebook site, theres a few pick of it.
