Well i have the feeling for now that its time to hang up the Helmet and retire from motorcycling.
Was Riding along one of the main roads at about 40/50 km/h when an indian chap decided he would just pull out in front of me, which caused me to T-bone into the side of him and sent me flying.
My XR1100 was smashed to pieces, jacket destroyed, gloves same, boots not bad. And best of all ive pretty much come out without much injury. Have got concussion and amnesia, as i cant really remmeber leaving to go out on the bike.
I havent seen the bike but i can only assume @ that speed the bike is going to be totaled.

What really pisses me off tho is the driver totally stuffed me up, then drove off, but then return again about 20 minutes later while they where scrapping mee off the deck. Now this is open to ideas but its been suggested that the drivers switched places.. However i have a name and info of the driver and a police report so she is all covered.

I feel so lucky that i got off so light and thinking i might retire from motorcycling for a while as ive had a few accidents now and not really interested in any more!

Mate, that sucks. Don't let the actions of a cager ruin your riding career though. Unfortunately the world is full of these arseholes. I hope you heal soon and decide to get back on the horse. And I hope the coppers take the prick you hit to the cleaners.

Here is my oppinion. Iv been riding for over 17yrs on the roads and I constantly hear ppl just like you whinge whine and bitch about other drivers faults when they get cleaned up. Im usually way over the speed limit and I can honestly say Iv had alot of near misses and 1 collision with another bike rather than other cars. Once a bike run wide in the natio and clipped me we both got air lifted. Its simple EXPECT THEY ARE GOING TO DO THE WRONG THING AND THEY CANT SEE YOU!!!! Dont sit beside cars cover your brakes and setup at EVERY intersection look in your vision mirrors when sitting at lights LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM INFRONT!! bikes pull up from 300km to 60 quick but the setup time from 60 is just the same. PRACTICE HARD BRAKING in side streets/industrial estates book in a track day atleast 3 times a yr to keep ur wits about you. Iv come off plenty of times wear PROPER riding gear at all times. Suck it up and get back on after a while you learn how to fall and it aint so bad. Im sure there is plenty of advice out there to keep safe but thats my 2 cents worth and Im sure plenty of riders will agree. Ps booting in the doors of an A hole is always fun too.

Sad to hear but good you more or less walked away from it. Sounds like its time for a break (or a CSS course).

Mate confidence is a big part of the decision you have to make.

If you are not confident riding then maybe taking a break is right for you now but also getting back on is a good way to rebuild confidence.

Maybe a tracky to enjoy the thrills of riding with the risk of fools either car, bike, truck or pedestrians.

I agree with grego.77, i've been (legally) riding for almost 12yrs and i've had one major off.. Riding is a calculated risk. Put yourself where you can be seen and expect the unexpected. Yes there are fukwits out there, there always will be. Just because your in the right or doing the right thing clearly doesnt mean your safe..

However, you say your not interested anymore, if your hearts not in it your head wont be either and a break is probably a good thing.. All the best with whatever you choose..

Time to start racing.

Glad to hear you are ok with no major injuries. It's time for a track bike to build your confidence back up, what else are you going to do with the insurance money

Sorry to hear about the off mate - really glad you're ok and had gear on.

There's nothing wrong in taking a break to re-evaluate what you want to do. Track days are probably a viable option or you might go back to road riding after taking some time away.

Either way - glad you're ok. No need to rush any decisions as to what you want to do - just concentrate on having a full recovery then seen how you're feeling.

haha cheers guys nice mixed bag of reactions, but variety is the spice of life and i love it haha.

Na its not that its knocked my confidence and i could go and jump on a bike again right now and go farken flat out everywhere and id feel fine riding. I just kinda feel like i have been given a 2nd chance, cause this stack could have turned out far worse. I love riding its in my blood, but at the same time i love living and being healthy! So its a bit of a double edge sword!

I think its a tough call to make!

Its the yrs of riding illegally which make you REALLY aware of whats around you I know Iv been there. PS. forgot to mention its good you walked away.
