Yep, Tatyana finally killed her Celica. I have been telling her since we met that she is a mechanical butcher, but nothing changed.
Her version of looking after her car goes along these lines.
start it up in the morning when it is freezing cold outside, and give it a cold tune straight up (For those who don;t know, a cold tune is revving the nuts of the motor before it is warm.), dump the clutch at all times. Changing up or down, doesn't matter, just make sure it makes a good thump as it's released like a switch and not a lever!
Hammer the brakes and don't bother gearing down. If it's not at redline, your not driving fast enough. OIL????? What do you mean they have oil??? Check it???? what do you mean that an engine uses some oil???? Water???? They have water in them?????
So, the gearbox had been grumpy for some time and i was contemplating buying a new box for it as the car was in good shape. But, after god knows how long without oil and water, it finally gave up late last week and got so hot that the timing belt snapped!!!
So, we had one car, my bike not operable with a dud radiator and both needing transport. So, the quick solution was I gave Tatyana the cute litel red MR2 and I bought........wait for it............a 1995 holden apollo!!!!!! (camry with a holden Badge)
But wait....theres more......it's not just an Apollo, it's a white Apollo!!!!
How fucking grandma and grandpa is that hey?
Anyway, it was a nick.........One owner, 140,000klms, full history, no major accidents (One small ding in the left rear door, but no paint gone) Manual, air, P/steer, Rego till April 2011 and supplied with a RWC all for ...........$2000!!!!!
I couldn't turn it down at that money and it will be handy to have a four seater for when Tatyana's family come visit early next year!!
