2011 ZX10R RECALL

I went to my local Kwaka dealer today to put a deposit on the new zx10 to only be told that they cant accept a deposit due a technical issue and all 2011 models are put on hold. Dealer called the green makers and put them on speaker phone to only hear that they cant say why they are being recalled its a technical issue and the dozen bikes that have been sold world wide are asking owners to bring them back and a full refund will be given..

A few plans are pointing at oil pressure issues at big lean angles.

I said the same thing!!! Just sell me one!! Iv been waiting years for Kawasaki to make an engine with linear power. Might ring Kawasaki Australia and say "Gday Kawasaki, Kev Curtain here just thought Id ring to say hello"

Yeah I read that also. Oil pressure at big lean angles wouldn't cause a total $$$ refund would it? Mates with 1000RRs are splitting crank cases dumping oil everywhere and when thats fixed they are consuming 1 liter of oil per 1000km and thats been going on for 3 yrs now lets not mention overcharged and exploding batteries and second gear issues.. No recall. Ducati fuel tanks are melting "Ducati saids its the 10% ether thats the cause not our recycled coke bottle plastic fuel tanks" as well as the 1198's engine case splitting leaking oil out issue. 08 R1s had a split second delay of shutting down thier fly by wire they all got recalled and software was updated it might be something more along those lines Id say??? But than again Im no expert but I do know Kawasaki make 1 of the toughest and most reliable Jap engines on the market. I highly doubt its a mechanical issue as Iv read.

I have been searching non stop for imformation, the green team is not saying anything they actually played dumb on the phone yesterday at first saying its the first they have heard of it but than spilt the beans that there "MAY" be a recall and it "MAY" not affect the Australian models but at the end of the day I wasnt able to even put a deposit down though I was given a price of $17,990 + ORC. I emailed Kawasaki Australia also but have had no response.

....... still no credible info being made available at this stage, other than advice from Kawasaki Australia that the Australian distribution date has been put back a couple of weeks or so?
Here is a link to MCN, but it doesn't tell us much more than we know already.

According to the guys in the US it has something to do with excessive engine wear, something wong with either the rings or bore lining.??
Those that have already taken delivery, and theres only about 20, have been told they can keep them but do not ride over 6000rpm and a replacement engine will be sent to there local dealer for installation.. or they can return them for a full refund..
