BUNDY the blue heeler biker dog’s famous charity fund raising days could be over after his owner was booked yesterday under new RTA laws.
Sydney police charged Mr Tex O’Grady on his way home from a charity event for allowing his dog Bundy to ride on the petrol tank of his motorbike.

The negligent driving charge has angered members of the Australian biker community who have thrown their support behind the pair.

Mr O'Grady, of Minchinbury, has clocked up more than 600,000km in the past eight years, riding across Australia to raise funds for many causes, including CanTeen, The Children's Hospital at Westmead and the Variety Club.

Mr O'Grady is seeking an exemption from the RTA and has pleaded for a rewording of the law.

He said Bundy was just as safe riding on a motorcycle as he was riding in a car. When on the bike, Bundy wears a leather jacket, goggles and a dog car harness.

Saw this on Sunrise this morning....interesting. Not sure there will be an exemption for one rider.....but best of luck to him getting off the charge.

Discreationary use of police powers has gone out the window, what a wanker to do that to someone working so hard for worthwhile charities.

Morally farked...

Legally - not much he can do.

I bet i could raise millions for charity by promising to kill Justin Bieber, but i doubt i'd get a legal exemption.

on the upside, I guess this means they will be cracking down on all the wankers reading a newspaper/magazine while driving in peak hour (3 on the bridge last week), talking/texting etc.

See above...

How many cops would have seen them before and done nothing because of the circumstances.

That sucks, maybe he would have more hope if the charitys he has raised moneys for protested this stupid desision.
On the lighter side i have seen plenty of dogs on motorcycles and they dont get booked, maybe because there on the back and have a helmet ;)
