BUNDY the blue heeler biker dogs famous charity fund raising days could be over after his owner was booked yesterday under new RTA laws.
Sydney police charged Mr Tex O’Grady on his way home from a charity event for allowing his dog Bundy to ride on the petrol tank of his motorbike.
The negligent driving charge has angered members of the Australian biker community who have thrown their support behind the pair.
Mr O'Grady, of Minchinbury, has clocked up more than 600,000km in the past eight years, riding across Australia to raise funds for many causes, including CanTeen, The Children's Hospital at Westmead and the Variety Club.
Mr O'Grady is seeking an exemption from the RTA and has pleaded for a rewording of the law.
He said Bundy was just as safe riding on a motorcycle as he was riding in a car. When on the bike, Bundy wears a leather jacket, goggles and a dog car harness.
