So, heres the story.

I currently race an old 99 Yammie R6. Its been a nice ride, but its time to upgrade to something a little more modern. Theres a lovely 05 ZX10R I've got my eye on (and at a bargain price too!) which fits the bill very nicely indeed. Only problem is, the bike is a ex-Canadian bike.

My question is....if the bike decides to lunch an engine (which does happen unfortunately), am I gonna be up for big bucks to replace the wiring harness and all the associated plugs if I replace the engine with one out of a local bike? Or were all the engine/harness combos relatively similar?

Nah it should be fine but being from Canada it will run on 120VAC so you will need a converter transformer to run the wiring/harness on our local 240VAC.

Make sure you do use the transformer otherwise your engine will have twice as much power.....which is great but it will lunch itself quite quickly working at such a high voltage that it was not designed to operate at continually. You will need the transformer!

Of course you could change the voltage regulator to an Australian version and save carrying around all the extra weight of the transformer.
