I put a set of Michelin Power Pures on my 2004 Z1000 about 2000 miles ,(3100 km) ago and am still very pleased with them. The tread wear at this point is almost negligable considering how I ride, (very stupidly). The traction is very good in wet or dry weather, they warm up quickly and the steering is still very light. I know the Z is not the sportiest suspension on the block but I have added Race Tech springs and valves which made a huge difference although it will never be as good as a true crotch rocket. It is however a better bike than I am a rider. No need to comment unless you have a truley smart arse thing to say. Time for a shot of vodka and a brew. Cheers. By the way I've had Bridgestones, Continental, (both the sport and road attack) and Avons and these are the best so far. keep in mind I will be 65 in a month so my judgement may be impaired due to excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Hey oldman,
Ive heard that Betty White had a Z1000 and she outrode it and bought a "crotch rocket" so you keep trying there

,
However i have Michelin Sports Road 2 with about 5K on them, real fucking good i commute and grip is good so far and i too sometimes ride like a dick.
Anyway my 2003 Z is too a better bike than i am rider, so fuck you Betty White.
Enjoy,

Seiko1. I'm not surprised the server doesn't like the recipient, Thats the story of my life, one disapointment after another, oh whoa is me, just a poor over fucked under cooked drunken old fart with bad breath and under arm odor. har-de-har-har. I'll look for your e-mail and drown my sorrowful life in naked horney women and alcoholic beverages with the odd run on my moto, (daily as I don't work and you do haha). Retired life is such a bitch.

Nice to know Oldman, as Im almost up for a set of tyres on my ZRX1200. I have a Bridgstone 015 on the rear & have got over 4000Ks out of it. So I think thats pretty good. Oh & there is no chicken strips on them. So Im not overly hard on them but I do ues them all. I have a Prelli Dilablo on the front & while it hangs in there I cant say Im to trusting of it. The Bridgie balls up & you can tell its working well, the Preilli doesnt at all & thats what makes me think "Im not gonna push this to much"
I did have the old Pilot Powers 2CT on another bike & couldnt fault them. Did a track day at OP & was supprised at the times. So Im thinking of going for them again.. But If the pure is better I'll get them.???

I think the biggest difference was the weight. The Power Pures are very light and I noticed a distinct difference in the lightness of the steering.

Sman,
i can definately vouch for the Pures, they have done 3200k on my ZRX so far, rear looks like will make
maybe 4500k, front maybe 6000k. they dont ball up like the bridgestones but you can see when they are in their happy zone for sure, grip is excellent, front will "push" before it lets go and even then it just wallows and re grips, not too bad in wet but NOT as good, i dont think as original Powers. If you like Pirelli try Corsa 3, although they do need to be hotter to work than the Pures. I get wht you mean about the normal Diablo, its excellent in the wet but is mushy in the dry, I found the Diablo rosso better than Diablo but not nearly as good as Diablo Corsa 3. I change to Pures cause couldnt get Powers, so far like the Pures fine but will go to a Pilot Road 2 on rear next as i want the extra miles/less expense on this one. My 63 year old "whistle quick" mate runs Pure on front and Road 2 on rear,he only has grip issues with rear if he lets me ride it!!!! (bit heavy handed and run a gear lower than him as i am 25kg heavier!).
Cheers.
