well after chewin everybodies ear about the red key sagger that Kawasaki has estabblished the red key myth.
I have found several guys that are capable of cutting new Kawasaki immobilizer keys from any of your working keys.
and 2 that have the ability to get you a key from just the ECU.
I understand the need for a good security system for new bikes and to keep the details secret.
but once the bike has some years on it and it has had 4 or 5 owners chances of some of them looseing keys is a certanty.
so why lie to the Joe public about the ability to get a new key for your ride.
why can't they say give us proof of purchase and we can do it for you for say $130-$140 ??
but no they have to give you the sorry mate your screwed.
that will be $2500 for a new master key system with new ECU.
god they frigin Suck.
so now I've had a spit.
good locksmiths can cut new keys for all Kawasaki's including the 2010 model.
I don't know why someone would need a new key for a 2010 model but the guy that cut my keys said he's done 1 already
so as the heading says.
the RED KEY MYTH is well and truely BUSTED.
Cheers Cloud 9

Re: the red key myth Busted.
I am a newbie but a lot of people still think the myth is real.
I can get just about any bike key done while u wait.
apparently there are three different types of immobilizer formats
Texas/ Sigma or Simca( can't remember) and there's a third one that is real hitech and needs A tech wiz like the guy that did my keys.
anyway Kawasaki is the Texas codeing. even the 2010 models.
cheers Cloud 9
