When to change swingarm chain guard

Post by bishboy »

I'm in the process of changing my chain and sprockets and was wondering at what stage to replace the plastic swingarm chain guide/guard.

From the pictures it seems the top is ok but the bottom is quite worn/grooved.

Have you gotten slack with checking the chain is correctly tensioned?

please excuse the pun!

If it hurts, you aren't doing it right.

Replace it when it breaks, what you are seeing is normal and if it breaks it will just get chewed up by the chain or end up on the road with no damage to any critical parts on the bike. Sounds to me with a dumb question like that you must be a tea totaler, a good shot of stoli and a brew will clear it all up. :kuda:

Replace it when the ridge is gone.
