Another example of being reamed for Kwaka parts in Aus. :x

I damaged my stator cover during my off at PI in April so decided to replace it.

Cost in Au is $264 + $30 for the gasket and it would take about a week to get here in the bush... :?

Ordered from Chaplin Kawasaki in the USA for A$178 including gasket ($10 US) and freight ($32 US) and it arrived in 6 working days... :)

I buy all my parts from Ronnies Parts Finder in the US. Have spent $4,000 so far. How much to buy this in Aus? Double that and add some more!!!
Cheers - Phoenix

The freight will murder you . The yanks can be funny about sending stuff OS . Some will not explore sea shipping options , they will only quote air freight .
Getting stuff to a sea port can be a real issue .

I have been buying stuff from the US now for 6-7 years.....it beats the shit out of buying local, the mark-up that gets applied to aussie spare parts is just total bullshit.

bertk - I just purchased a complete set of fairing panels and other bits, from a mob in HongKong. Total cost inc. shipping was < $500. Quality is fine. Shipping from the US though, will be more expensive. As Billy says, a lot of US sellers simply don't ship overseas at all - best bet is to just keep searching through the ebay sellers, till you find one that does. It also helps if they are on the West Coast, as shipping is generally heaps quicker than the mid-West or the East Coast.

You could also check some Canadian sellers, a lot of these also ship to Oz no problem.

Just tried Bikebandit.com for rear zx9 fender price US$108 plus $130 freight. I thought that that was ok Teamoto quoted me $237 plus wait for delivery from Japan.
Today Bikebandit sent me an email asking for another US$53 extra for freight..WTF
Gonna see how much Partshark is going to charge for freight from the US.
I have cancelled that order probably end up getting it from Teamoto and wait 3++++ weeks for delivery

With the $Au falling sometimes our sponsors here can provide great prices and service.

I have been looking for chains and Superbike Supply have great prices on chains atm and fast delivery. 8)

It pays to check around before assuming OS will be cheaper,...even though for genuine parts this is probably true.
