SIDI Boots

Post by robracer »

After a new pair of SIDI boots as my current Vertigo ones are just about falling apart at the seams, but have been the best pair of boots I have used in 26 years, as far as comfort goes.
So the question is do I get the same? I don't think I am interested in the 2 more expensive ones but as a cheaper alternative has anyone tried the B2's? any feedback?

The choice is between:
Sidi B2 Boots $400
Sidi Vertigo Boots (currently use) $549
Sidi Vertigo Corsa Boots $679
Sidi Vortice Boots $699.... how many gadgets & adjustments can you have on a boot

Nb these prices are not discounted just a RRP guide

Hi Rob

I am using B2 now, they are comfort and offer alot of protection too but I dont have any experience to compare it with especially against the Vertigo.
I'm not even sure if they are full track useable compared to your Vertigo.

I had to wear it for an hour to pickup my bike from servicing and it was fine.

Thanks, I think my question is more narrowed down to road use than track ....... daily use with the odd full riding day thrown in, I seem to recall the break in period for the Vertigo boots was pretty quick.

And it was good

Vertigo's FTW :)

I tried a pair of the Vortice on recently when shopping for new boots and they took a good 5 mins to put on ... but once on felt fantastic and Id say you'd have almost no breaking in period...

I've got the B2's and they've been OK, certainly comfortable to wear, but they were what I was wearing when I highsided at the EC trackday last year and you would've seen the bruising on my foot that evening. They gave some protection, but there's a slider halfway along the side of the foot that dug in and bruised the sides of both my feet, plus my heel was pretty sore for about a month afterwards (probably should've got that x-rayed  ). They supported my ankles OK though.

I think they are OK for the road but I'll be looking for something a bit better for the track soon I reckon.

I've got a pair of Vertigo Corsa boots and can't fault them, but I only wear them to the track so can't comment on everyday road use :D

Im in the same boat Rob. Need new boots, my Vertigo's have held up for 2 years and 4 drops  but are pretty ratty now due to the drops mainly. The lockwire in place of broken zips would attest to this  Not sure if they are gonna be any cheaper in the US or not :? But at worst Ill just have to get them when I get back 8) But yes they are comfortable on longer rides and only took 2 rides and a trackday before they were really comfortable :kuda:

I've had the B2's for my last two sets of boots and for the road I reckon they're sensational. I still use mine at the track but next time will probably go something more purposeful.

Checkout these guys http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/StoreFront.bok

They review loads of gear and they are pretty damn decent on price.

Im sure there's newer reviews if you look.

I ended up buying a pair of smx5 for daily use and the odd track day. They are mega comfortable, pretty sturdy, decently priced ($218 imported)

Check out eBay too, you'll get the same boots at better prices from OS even including shipping.
