I was wondering about something, . . . and thought I'd seek your 2c worth
If someone said to you : 'youre too smart to be fast'
What would you think, say or feel about that? Is it a positive, a compliment, or a negative thing to say?

I would suggest it means they don't understand riding.

depends... It either says they think it's stupid to ride quick on the road and you're smart Because you choose to take it easy
..... Or......
they want to appear to believe it in order to make you feel better about being a slow rider?
Either way they're missing the point that safety is about riding within your limits so you have something in reserve for unexpected things. A slow person with bad technique pushing themselves is in more danger than a fast person with sound technique riding with buffer, even if they're riding quicker than the first.

Dave said your application to the party has been approved and you can have the queen bed in the spare room for the night.

on topic...
I read a bit of a website where there are alot of smart people who arent very fast.
too much theory, not enough action.
But you got the action so you've already broken the mould.
