Hey Guy's,
I have the clearance from the minister of W&F to finally get another track bike

(but not untill october

) and have been doing a bit of window shopping around other forum's,classified's and Ebay...
There seem's to be a shitload more 1000cc bike's available and relatively cheap compared to 600's....My question is would I regret buying a 1000cc bike for the track? I know there is no way I would ever ride the wheel's of it but think I have relatively good throttle control

...I know it would be a huge step up from the Zeddy but people thought's opinion's would be greatly appreciated

.....
BTW my budget is @ 7k...and don't want to buy something that is gunna be a money pit

.....Considered buying a RWO and doing it that way but don't think my budget wound allow it

....Plus I don't really have the time.....

I have a 600 for ages and found it frustrating to be stuck behind a rider who pull out on the straight, but then not too fast on corners... only to speed up again on the exit. But if riding alone/no one in front of me it's fast.

If ya want to work hard get a 600 and if ya want to work even harder get a thou.
Hope that clears it all up....lol

Can also depend on what tracks you intend to frequent. I find the six great on the mid size tracks, but lacks on the big open circuits (Read P.I.). Having said that the six will teach you heaps more in the corners, there the thou may lead to being a straight line throttle jockey

600- more friendly to a begineer track rider. Plenty of power without alot the punishment if you get it wrong.
1000- You work just as hard trying to keep the front wheel down and the arse end straight as you would changing gears on the 600. The trouble with getting it wrong on a 1000cc though is that it hurts u for doing it.

600 I think for the track so you can thrash it and throw it around without worrying too much about it bucking you off. 7k for a recent model (efi, slipper clutch, low ks etc) track bike sounds good... Look at Robs 06 he just sold etc... Never know someone in the club might be selling one by the time you're ready so you know the history of the bike....
