Well today I got a bit hack of all work and no play.
So after finishing what I had to do this morning I started hunting for parts for the Zed conversion
After Philthy pipped me to the post on the 04 front forks the other week I went a hunting for better ones!
So this is where I'm at at the moment, front forks ordered and paid for, front calipers ordered and paid for. Shipping enquiries on front guard (anybody got a spare one for 05 06 07 or 08?) same goes for axle??
Hel has been contacted for lines

just need to source the brake caliper spacers, longer caliper bolts and wheel spacers (have the part no. for Kawasaki, just need to bend over and get reemed) requred.

This all came about after talking to suspension guys and them coming up with extrordinary figures ranging up to $1400 to sort what I have. Ain't happening, it'll get a six front end and then around to Daves place for copious amounts of beer for a suspension set up session, then that'll do!
Probably sell it then and buy something else
Mmmmmm Streetfighter

Cheers Whatster, if it isn't too bad it should fix up.
Davo I picked up the Tokico's, surely they can;t be that bad for road riding? If they are a bit shitty I can swap ém later.
I'm gatering the banjos for the newer calipers or the Cbr are the same?
Where did you pick your caliper spacers from Dave?
Looking forward to have something new to play with.
Cheers

Yeh the banjo's should be the same- depends if your running a twin line set up. I have a few laying around so I'm sure we can sort something.
I got the spacers from the UK..

Special Edition 6 Tim. Black one with the flames
Should go well with the White black and red scheme.
Just didn't want to end up spending best part of $1200 for something that really isn't going to be stretched on the road, rather just get the best I can out of stock gear.
I know a bloke thats pretty good at setting up suspension also

There's a grey 06 se with flames, and a black 08 se with mirror and red. Different shocks in each one I thinK, although not sure if the 06 were red.
Thought they looked familiar, the nissins are nice!

I'm nearly finished, should have it on the road by Sunday. I have had no problems yet - apart from the fact the way my stand positions the forks I cant get the bloody front axle in - bugger. Will need to jack it up to put the wheel back on..... How you going Damo?

Waiting for delivery on the forks etc. Just have to make sure I get the length right on the braided lines as they have to be 3 or 4" longer than the 6.
Mine are a little short ATM on the Zed with the wide bars, so I may just get 2" longer than Zed. You doin twin line or 3 with over front wheel?
I'm also gonna wait until I have everything in place before I order the spacers and caliper bolts. Some forums say the calipers will be ok with standard positioning and others say spacers and longer bolts.
Just playing a waiting game ATM, I've got 2 fractured ribs and the quack has told me no bike riding for a while, so it ties in nicely with modding
I saw you pop up on Riderforums the other day buddy, some good info on there eh?
