My union sent this out to me in an email today and i figure here is as good a place as any to put as a reminder.
In the near future, possibly as soon as this weekend, Prime Minister Julia Gillard will announce the date of the next Federal election. The electoral roll closes at 8pm on the day that she announces the election.
Tony Abbott has continued to defend WorkChoices, even though the Australian people voted overwhelmingly to get rid of it. He said that WorkChoices “was good for wages, it was good for jobs, and it was good for workers. And let’s never for get that." * Make sure you are enrolled to vote so that you c! an have your say on Tony Abbotts plans to bring back WorkChoices – even if it is under a different name.
IT'S EASY TO ENROL.
1. Click here:
https://forms.australia.gov.au/forms/ae ... enrolment/
2. Fill in the form
3. Print out the completed form
4. Fax it to the Australian Electoral Commission on (02) 9281 9448
Remember, if the election is called this weekend and you are not enrolled, you may not be able to vote, so enrol now.

Normally its a case of vote for the best of the worst but this time it looks like there may be a record number of donkey votes because neither major party has anything substantial to offer. Voting for the minor parties only means that preferences go to the majors. We are screwed either way.
Even the unions --- as above ---- are marginalised and can only point out that Abott is flawed because of workchoices and cant spruike the Labour pardy positives.
Obviously our political system at the moment is in the words of the great Sam Kekovich "Rooted" and perhaps there is now a need for something more than the two pardy preferred system!!???
I'm not normally one to have an opinion but.......Gotta say though....bloody happy to see the back end of Rudd.
