Hi all,
Rang a local tyre supplier today as my Pilot Roads need replacing & was told that they refuse to fit Michelins anymore as they are manufactured in Thailand and have been found to be de-laminating/unsafe. Anyone heard similar reports ?
Thanks,
Mick.

if your local tyre supplier is named Mick and he lives out west, I'd not be believing it.

Yeah I've seen it happen to a rear pilot race just a couple of months back at the BSFOS and fortunately the guy realised before it was too late. Not sure on the date or place of manufacture though.

There's prolly more stuff made in thailand than what ppl might think

Surely if there was a quality issue Michelin would be on top of it to avoid any bad rep??

YSS shock absorbers for starters - and they are very high quality. My rearsets were also made in Thailand, and are fine....exactly the same as Wet4U or Kaneg rearsets......

brrrrrrr....once I made the mistake of using a Dunlop Qualifier that was made in France............never ever again. It was *beyond* shithouse !!!
