Be prepared for fine blitz (NSW)

Just heard a new brief that the NSW Govt is expecting to double the revenue from fines this year.... :?

Now I've heard that there have been a lot of people killed recently because they got into trouble while fishing.

My proposal is that anyone caught fishing in a manner dangerous (rock fishing, using small boats in bad weather, sticking themselves with hooks, cutting themselves with knives etc etc) should be fined up to $3000 and loose demerit points and when they loose 12 points they are no longer allowed to fish for 3 months.

Anyone caught rock fishing when waves are high should immediately be banned from fishing for 6 months and have to leave their gear where they were caught for someone else to collect.

Anyone caught fishing while on suspension should be jailed immediately and very heavy fines imposed.

Food for thought... :kuda:

The new "safety" cameras will be helping with that a lot I'd say.

Simple maths, if you don't speed you won't contribute. They only take photos if you exceed the speed and whilst yes they are not safety devices but are are purely revenue raises, they only raise revenue from those who don't when to choose their time and place to speed.

By the way they are not expecting a doubling in speeding fines revenue it is an increase of 130 something million which is a 50% increase as per the budget papers. If they don't get this additional fine revenue we won't be in a surplus either!

so in order to save the current NSW government it is our duty to speed?

I'd support them quite happily if i still get to keep my licence after the anal expansion...
