Finally, after the 8 weeks of waiting, my kit came in direct from the Akrapovic factory.
Took all of 1hr 20min to remove the stock and install the full system. Is nice and easy when its all new still.
Its not overly loud, which is good. But to be honest, i expected more. Even with the dB killer out, I thought it would be louder.
But when you open it up and get the revs up, its starts to produce some nice chords

Even when you back off from say the 10k rpm range, it blows nice fat blue flames out the end. Somehow i need to get a photo of that.
I can notice the power increase for sure. Mainly due to the wheelies while roll ons in 2nd. Doesnt need to be clutched up, or bounced up. Just roll it on, and keep going.
Also found the delivery is smoother. Smoother gear changes, smoother rpm up and down. And a rather bothering vibration around the 9k rpm area is gone.
I weighed the stock system on the scales at work, compared to the full Akra. I forget the figures

, but i worked out the Akra is 10.2kg lighter.
Still waiting for the Power Commander 5 to be release for the Z so I can install it and the apropriate map.
Enjoy
Rob

Sweet as .... and it sounds just like an Akra should too IMO - it's nice and fruity but not overly loud down low and makes a nice roar when you're stuck up it.

I will be awaiting your results after the Power Commander. I gained about 11 HP on my 2004 with full Muzzy, PCIII and the airbox mod. I would bet your going to be around 140HP at the wheel on the 2010. I'm very jealous, I guess I'll drown my sorrows in a shot of Jim beam.

Oldman, I think it be close to the 140hp. When i had it in the shop for its 1st service, i got them to check it out for a noise in the engine. (long story short, the noise was the cam chains. A new noise i wasn't used to) and they put it on the dyno to check it out. While it was on there, the operator ran it up to satisfy his own curiosity (and mine) and got a figure of 136hp. I think thats a little high for a new engine rated for 130. i think 115 - 120 would be closer. Akra claim a possible 16 rwhp with the full system, so it could be close.
Hoffy, Everyone gets Yoshi. Everyone!! Yoshi's are like the common house fly. Just can't get rid of them. I want something different. Yes, the Akra's are a little more $$, but damn they look/sound/perform a whole lot better. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a yoshi available for my bike yet.

Full system is a 4-1, unless this is a special twin cylinder model Z1000
Looks just like an Akra should - reeks of quality

Noice, how unusual for a Zed owner to be doing wheelies

, Although i like my bike like me with a fat arse and think that one pipe takes away from the Zeds looks my twin tri oval Yoshi's ( oh no how common) have a deep rumble no baffles of course

.
With that plate ill see you, my pipes you'll hear me.
