HELP

I just went to change the battery on my storm and when I was connecting the terminals, one sparked and I shit myself [ as you do ] dropping the nut and bolt on the ground somewhere.

But when I got it all connected, I got NO POWER
I checked all my fuses - they all seem fine.
What have I done?
Why don't I have power?

Something really expensive I bet.

My ZX9R has a 30 amp fuse located separately from the other fuses. When it blows you lose all power. Maybe your VTR has the same. Check the area close to your fuse box and see if there is a fuse located separately.

Bikes (and cars) have a large amp fuse...called a fusible link between the battery and the rest of the lectrics
grab a multimeter and go testing the wiring from the battery

you sure the connections on the terminals aren't just loose?
(and sillier question yet... is the ignition on?)

The main fuse, or fuseable link will be on the +ve battery cable before enters the rest of the loom. It may not look like a fuse initially as it will more then likely have a rubber boot over it. Look for something on the big cable from the red terminal. Also, put a test light accross the battery terminals. Does your horn (don't be rude) and indicators work? In not it is the main fuse or battery.

Damn, i was to late. Was gonna say the same thing. Fusable link.
Best thing about the firestorm, its there is nothing expensive on it. No ECM to blow up, no injectors to kill with water droplets. Nothing!!
Im suprised they dont have a kick start

This is another reason why you undo the negative first, and do it up last.
