Hey Guy's,

After pulling up ok after the GC trip I have decided I'm gunna do the run down to PI for MGP this year .Will mosey on down at my own pace (slow) ....My question is regarding camping what is the price difference between trackside and the other place that everyone usually camp's at (caravan park?) Is it too early to book accom yet?...Is trackside that bad? .....Excitered ....

Book it yesterday if want a caravan park.... probably nothing left already..........

should still be heaps available at the track sites.......

I think you may be right smithy .....Rang a few and the had nothing.....One place has 2 sites Avail @ $240 per person for 4 night's with 4 people per site....Anybody else interested?

Dont be a pussy and go trackside. Last year it was $90 from Thursday to Monday morning. Its not that bad if ya stay pissed....lol

trackside is OK but after the races all the action is at Cowes

Phil, Tim et al have been doing it for years, Phil is even fit to work during the event despite staying at trackside

Are you saying it's $960 for a camp site for 4 nights for up to 4 people at the caravan park? FMD, that's un-fucking-believably-fucking-expensive At the supers we pay about half that for a cabin for 4 nights.

Still, I'm not sure I could survive 4 days in the cage at the track .... they have warned you about the cage haven't they Disco ?

Fark if those prices are right I'm glad I'm going to the Malaysian MotoGP this year, it's costing me $2000 for return flights, transfers, accom and 3 days VIP entry into the track!

Got an Email today after speaking to a guy last night at "Amaroo Park" is a PDF so I don't think I can post it.It say's $240 for a camp site, he said last night per person up to 4 so it could just be 1 or 2 yeah?....Price's do look a little XXey but I think it includes breakfast and dinner ...PM me your Email and I'll forward it onto you for your opinion, might be better to pay a bit extra to avoid "The Cage" Whatever that is just don't sound real good ....

GP track camping has two options, Trackside and Highside. Trackside has a sign on the fence that says, "Do not feed the animals", which is pointless coz in there eatin' is cheatin'. Highside is far more relaxed, there's guys in campers with big screen TVs, Kids are running about, and most people even have clothes on

Camping at the track, you can wander back to smuggle more beer in. You can wake up drunk and get to the track legally. Beer is breakfast.

ive done it twice... spent most of my time riding into cowes in the evenings tho its great to be woken up to the sounds of morning warm-up tho

<- this is the biggest thing i regretted about staying Trackside at the superbikes last year, that aside it was still pretty good though, and mighty convenient (aside from the wind nearly killing my tent). That being said, of the two, it's much of a muchness, having done both.

bingo! though I've never gone south for a GP, only superbikes, so can't vouch for how in/out of control it usually is when the GP circus comes to town.

The cage is the fence they put up around trackside - ostensibly it's to keep the public out of the campsite, but everyone knows it's to keep the animals in the cage
