Just attended Mountain Thunder street racing in Methven, a wee town in the South Island usually associated with skiing. The racing was organised by the Canterbury Classic Action Motorcycle Sports, known as CAMS. They race the classics and post classics in quite a few classes. There was pre 63, 72, 79, 82 and 89. There was Motards and an open class taboot.

A great day in the sun and you were so close to these guys that if you were a twat, you could've reached out and touched them as they flew by at a touch over 200km/hr on the main straight. A great day. A few offs but only one that required a meat wagon - one of the 35 starters in the motard rode up someones back wheel not far off the start.

Hopefully I've managed to attach a few photos.

There were a few classic Kawa's in there, GPZ's and an old zed. They had a lot of fun with the bigguns - fast, loud and a wee bit wriggly under brakes!
