need some help to decide

hi all,,,,i am thinking of racing next year with PCRA and have been looking at a suitable project that would fit in PC/FE to 1300cc,,,,,now have looked at a lot of kawasaki's but for some reason even barnyard rusty junk are made of gold going on the dollars people want,,,,,so now i've been looking outside of the square(other makes)and found this 81 model cb900f2 for $800 ,,,,,shit i had one of those and traded it in for a fj1200,,,,,,any ways its pretty straight but has lost compression in a cylinder,,,,not a too harder fix,,,,,so just after some advice,,,,cheers paul

Cool shiny, the rolladoors are a good start,........ mate have you seen the competition in unlimited FE lately
I would be going a similar path as gos..... more chance of podium finishes

Oh & I came 3rd in the Unlimited championship a few years back on a pantah 600..... so maybe cubes aint everything
& looking at the new pantah dude at the pointy end it might happen again

They are a good rig to get started on Shiny - and if you do pick up that model, there are a couple of punters who used to race these in PCRA - they know how to make 'em sing !
They do have an achilles heel though - the dual cam-chain set up. These have to be kept in really good nick for good power.....
In any case, for $800 its not like you are throwing a lot of money away in the first place is it ??
