Should have been...

Hey guys, this should have been a happy introduction as I've just helped my girlfriend by an 05 GPX 250 to do her learners on. She had been so excited that she was getting a Kawasaki and had always been keen on the GPXs. Unfortunately after finding what seemed like a good bike, having a mobile mechanic perform a pre-purchase inspection, and negotiating a good price we've discovered (during it's first service and tidy up) that the frame is cracked right through making the bike fit for nothing but wrecking. The bike has clearly been in some sort of major accident though we are not sure with which of the previous owners.
I'm hoping that if anyone on here is- or knows- a lawyer, they could give us an idea of where we stand with the seller and the mechanic that performed the pre-purchase inspection. I feel terrible for my girlfriend as I helped her buy the bike and I thought we'd done everything right by getting the inspection done. If anyone has been in a similar situation also and could provide any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Wish my first post could have been a more positive one but I'm sure once we get over this we'll have her on more roadworthy Kawa in no time.
Cheers.
NOTE: I'll probably post this on some other forums like kawariders too
