Hey Guy's
After having a look at my policy last night trying to weigh thing's up,something stood out at the bottom of the page "Rating 5 Insured rider"...
I had no idea what this meant and after trying to google it to no avail decided to ring my insurance company and ask them.Well apparently up untill the end of last year they put all rider's at level 5 because of the high risk of riding a motorcycle but now have what they call a safe driver reward's scheme

....Which mean's they take into account all driving (year's) including car and found out I am now a level 1

.....
What doe's this mean to me? Well instead of paying $1,800 a year ($157.00 a month) I now pay $860 a year ($76.00 a month) which is a 50% saving....Took a bit of fiddling to get ie: Had to cancell the old policy and get a new one ,thank god I was pay by the month don't know what would have happend if I had paid my premium in full
I urge people who like me thought I was paying WAY to much for full comp insurance to investigate more and see if you can get a saving

AAMI again
They were a bit of a pain with my off last year but came to the party in the end.
I was finding it hard to get insurance with any of the cheaper insurer's like Shannon's because I had a claim in the last 12 month's....And all the other's (insure my ride,NRMA) were up around and over the $1,800 mark

.....
They now also do riding gear cover up to 5k I think it was where it used to only be like $500 before

....

I thought I was going crazy when I got quoted by aami for 464 the other day. Sure it was 1-2K last year. Figured it was just because I had my 25th in the mean time. Actually contemplating full comp on the bike for once.

I just renewed my insurance. It dropped by MORE than half. So happy it's now been more than five years since my (1 month for doing 136 in a 110 zone) licence suspension! That means that a bunch of other insurers will now consider me, and I can shop around a little. And not just on premium price, but also weighing up other factors. I've been paying through the nose for that one fine for the last 5 years - so nice to see a premium less than 1K for a change

i just renewed mine for the 12r last month and couldn't be happier,,,,,when i brought the bike(the 12r is under h/p) 2yrs ago for $11,500 the insurance cost me $874 and agreed for $12,000 + $4,000 for ride gear with qbe,,,,,2yrs later still under h/p i have 65% protected /agreed for $11,950 /highest rating for being a good rider

and with the price rise near the end of last year and insurance companies hitting bikes over 1000cc i don't mind paying $965

so if anything happens from now on i can see a very nice 12r tracky and just notice on the web a twin to black betty with under 10,000kms for a mere $8,500

Got told today they farked up my policy and will honour it until renewal next february...Apparently I should be a rating 3

.....They had all the note's on file from renewing the policy and apparently the person I dealt with just stuffed up .....If I don't have any accident's before feburary I will then be a rating 2 but will still be @ another $250 a year more than what I'm paying now

I was calling to enquire about insuring another bike against theft

....Apparently you can insure an unregistered motorcycle in any trim as long as it isn't raced for fire and theft or full comp but are totally different cost's.....Third party fire and theft for said MC was $260 for 5k coverage OR Full comp $1080 for $11,400 coverage

.....Two different types of coverage for theft ONLY

.....Oh and they can't be a WRO

The main concern I have with insurance policies is that most of them have a clause about not covering you if your vehicle is unroadworthy and this contributed to the accident. Can insurance companies do the dodge on aftermarket modifications such as exhausts, blinkers etc to avoid claims, and has anybody been in this situation before.
Since I have been back to riding the last 6 years I have yet to make a claim and dread the day I do and the insurance companies want to play shinanigans.

Have you got the bike greenslipped with said mods? Never been in the situation before, but if the greenslip goes through with mods on, how can they argue?
