I have a few mates working at both parra and granville and even when they buy something for them selves its a pissy 5% and a pain in the ass to get approved.

Funny how you can say to them you have $7500 to spend and they call back hopeful telling you they can drop to $7800...

The problem with working for base + comission is that you actually have to make some commission to earn more than $16 an hour.
We all whinge and whine about inflated prices and sales guys ripping us off, but at the end of the day they are just trying to pay the bills like you and me.

If they dont make a profit, they dont make any money. I work in retail and im sick and tired of seling shit at or below cost price. Sure the guy who owns the store makes money from rebates and crap. But the sales guy who sells you the shit at cost (or so called cost) makes nothing.

Im sure they look like snakes and thieves, in reality they are just trying to make a decent living.
Its not like they rock up to work in a ferrari.

I know all about commission, but I also know that this bike was traded for $3500:

So don't try to tell me that bike shops are doing it tough , there's a difference between mark up and commission .

yeah it is mate, to be honest i didnt go there with any intention of buying it. i just wanted to ride a 9 and see what it was like. Rather take a dealers out than a priver sellers.
But from what i could see it was pretty tidy. The guy said that they had someone leave a deposit, but their finance didnt go through. When i went to see it, it was at $8400.

pffft most people have been in the game at one point or another and understand it is not always in a salespersons control. No one is pointing fingers at the Salespeople themselves as at the end of the day they are only doing the job as the employer has asked of them.

If you want to rant about commission then I suggest you learn how to negotiate your package better. It's what sales are all about is it.
