Cops seize speeding bikie's machine
The Age February 18, 2010 - 7:29AM
A motorcyclist has had his bike seized by police after he was picked up travelling 183 km/h in a 70km/h zone in Melbourne's west.
Police seized the bike belonging to the 37-year-old man from Ardeer after he was caught speeding along Footscray Road, West Melbourne around 8.20pm (AEDT) on Wednesday night.
"At that speed it doesn't matter if he makes a mistake or someone else does, either way he's in serious trouble or worse off still, dead," said Senior Constable Greg Varcoe said.
The motorcyclist, a father of four, has held his bike licence for less than a year and was riding a Suzuki GSXR10 bike which is not an approved bike within his licence specifications.

You would think if he's going to be such a goose and blatantly break the law..... he would at least be going quicker!

I must have just been lucky when I was young and silly. I used to do that sort of stuff everytime I hopped on the bike. I don't see him as a goose except for the fact he stopped???

and related to this is another nomination
Australia's dumbest burglar?
A MELBOURNE burglar could be the nation's dumbest crook after leaving a trail of extraordinary clues along his crime spree route.
Within an hour of being charged and bailed over other break-ins, 36-year-old Andrew Bawden of Bendigo, Victoria was back in business, busting into cars and houses and robbing offices and a cathedral.
But his one-man crime wave came unstuck earlier this month when he dropped his police charge sheet at one crime scene.
Two hours later he dropped the DVD of his police interview at another.
"You get crooks sometimes who leave one thing that's stupid. Both things are extraordinary," Bendigo police Sgt Brendon Murphy said.
"From the police perspective it's quite good. We appreciate people who leave this evidence for us."
Bawden pleaded guilty to about 30 counts in court this week and was remanded in custody for sentence on March 31.

I think he should get a commendation from the police for helping to fight crime - his own...

a semi ' caught' a rider doing something similar on that piece of road just before christmas, he died.
the press pic showed the bike in lots of small pieces. I would hate to think what state the rider was in
(or whats left of him)
