We’re BACK!!! Kawasaki Newcastle rises from the ashes
Yes Kawasaki Newcastle, formally 5 Lang Road Broadmeadow, would like to announce their grand re-opening,
Saturday 20th February, 9am – 3pm, at their new temporary location, next door, corner Lang and Lambton Road.
After experiencing fire in the early hours of Monday 11th January, the team at Kawasaki Newcastle have been
working furiously to re-establish the business and salvage anything possible from the heavily damaged showroom.
Whilst devastated by the amount of destruction and loss caused by the intense fire the team at Kawasaki Newcastle
have tried to remain upbeat and focused towards the future “as hard as it is we are always trying to look upon this
horrible accident as an opportunity, an opportunity to make improvements and really focus on our core business of
best serving our customers... they are the reason we are in business”. Chris HIRST, Proprietor
To kick-off being back in business and thank loyal customers for their support Kawasaki Newcastle are inviting
everyone to their new temporary location, formally Marathon Auto Centre, this Saturday to celebrate being back
in business grand re-opening.
“We’ll be hosting an open day to mark our re-commencing of trade. We will have a free bbq, show bags for the kids,
NXFM Hit Crew Crosses on the day providing prizes and give-a-ways to listeners. Basically we want to provide a
platform for our customers and the public to come and check out our new showroom, spares and workshop facilities
in a fun and social way.” Gabrielle HIRST, Marketing.
“A key draw card to our reopening is our fire sale. We’ve been able to recover most of our new and used bikes... we
had over 70 motorcycles, ATVs and utility vehicles in stock when the fire occurred. Since the fire we have been able
to recover a majority of these bikes and will be selling this stock as fire damaged” Ken BRADLEY, Sales.
Savings on 2008, 2009 and the latest 2010 Kawasaki range will be up for grabs starting this Saturday. From learner
legal Ninja 250s, the latest MX models through to the famously powerful Kawasaki super sports bikes, there is sure to
be the right bike at the right price for any two wheel enthusiast.
Kawasaki Newcastle is a family owned business trading in the Hunter since 1982, the business is owned by Chris Hirst
and employs both children Gabrielle and Nathan. Throughout the 27 years the business has relocated twice due to
expansion. At the time of the fire Kawasaki Newcastle was ranked in the top 10 Kawasaki dealerships Australia Wide.
The fire that occurred January 11th was deemed accidental, caused by an electrical fault which started in the main
office above the workshop. The damaged caused by the accident has stopped trade for over a month and due to
structural and asbestos problems will easily exceed the million dollar mark.
