Been looking for the average price for my bike, its a 97 F3 ZX6R (not the 636) and i cant seem to find it anywhere.
Got a phone call from the insurance company and the price they told me i did not like, so im trying to find some ammo to counter their statement that they can find a similar age bike for 2.5k.
Ive looked at the obvious locations on redbook, like Ninja ZX-6R (ZX600R) but those models are only 2007 and up.
I looked under ZX-6R Ninja (ZX636) but obviously this returns the 636 models.
Ninja zx6 monther energy, gives me 2009 -10.
ZZ-R600 (ZX600) not listed there either...
Maybe im going blind or im blinded by my rage at the moment, but could someone have a quick look for me and see if you can find my bike?
Thanks

You can also try contacting redbook either by phone or email. They should get back to you pretty quickly.

Thanks for the research guys, i had a fight with the insurance company and it seems that they wont budge from 4k
I dont know if i am being unresonable but i would have expected 4.5.
i ended up going to glassguide and paying for a valuation and i got this
Dealer Trade In $3,700
Personal Buy Sell $4,300
Dealer Retail $5,100
So they werent far off...
But their price doesnt include the salvage fee of $250, so take that off the 4k
Should i bother fighting with them to get more?

If thats a first offer then yeah fight them for more.
At the ond of the day they are only out to look after themselves so if you think its worh more then go for it.

Insurers always start long off the mark hoping you won't fight.........
I would fight long enough not to get pissed off or so it doesn't start costing you money......... then you will know if it is worth a bigger fight

Yes i will keep the 6, and no that doesnt include my gear, but they will depreciate the value of the gear anyway so i have no hope of getting replacements at that price.
Ill give them another call and fight it out, but they are very stern about the 4k, maybe i am not a natural born negotiatior...
oh and apparantly i wont see a cent until the client pays his exess...

just checking Owen, but do you have full comprehensive insurance..... if you do, you can claim on your policy without penalty for your agreed value and your insurer will chase the at fault dude's insurer to recover their costs......... If you only have 3rd party, you may get a similar deal depending on your insurer and your policy......... but if you have no insurance, you will need to sharpen your negotiation skills and wait

With regards to insurance, I would get some clarification from either the insurance ombudsman or the department of fair trading.
I can see no reason why you have to wait for the other party to pay their excess before your funds are released if you are not at fault.
Get some clarification before you go back and negotiate. As they say better to know your rights then find out you had rights.
