Garry McCoy will make a sensational return to the Grand Prix paddock where he made his name after signing a two-year deal to ride for FB Corse in MotoGP.
MCN can confirm that the 37 year old Australian signed a contract at the teams head quarters in Italy on Saturday after postponing a planned trip back to Australia.

FB Corse must continue with their plan of work
Friday, 19 March 2010
As seen in various media sources, including Motorsport Aktuell, the Italian team did not pass the assessment in Valencia, which was required to participate in the World Championship.
The conclusion that has been reached is that the project is an interesting one, but that the current level of the FB Corse is not sufficiently competitive to join the MotoGP grid immediately and on a permanent basis.

......from Crash.Net
Garry McCoy quits FB Corse.
Former 500cc and WSBK race winner Garry McCoy has split from the FB Corse team, which he now feels will be unable to make its MotoGP debut this season.
McCoy took part in a special 'timing test', witnessed by IRTA and Dorna officials at Valencia in March, after which FB Corse was told it must complete a full race-distance simulation before it can enter its three-cylinder motorcycle in a grand prix.
That is yet to happen and a statement from McCoy revealed he is no longer part of the project:
“After spending the last 4 months training at top level, today I am at my best mentally and physically to race. My goal is to come back to the World Championship. I thought FB Corse was ready to do the step but they haven't accomplished the needs till now required. Hopefully soon, I will be able to update you with more news.”
The other new MotoGP project, by Inmotec, is also yet to confirm a debut date.
Following Valentino Rossi's accident, the full time MotoGP grid has shrunk to just 16 riders.
