hey guys, my wife is trying to sign up to ksrc but the register page wouldnt accept her email addy, its gmail account, should that be causing any troubles? she used a different email account which is linked to her gmail account (it forwards it to her current one) but for some reason it hasnt been pushed through, is there any reason you can think of for this to be happening???

no its not the same email account, its just the gmail account which isnt working. it worked when we used one of her older accounts which forwards her emails too her current eddy, but for some reason it didnt forward it yet, im wondering if maybe its a security measure to stop people registering without giving a valid email address...

free based email accounts like gmail and hotmail etc have been banned from being able to be used for new membership due to spam.
those who were already signed up before the ban with those accounts are able to keep them but if you change it you wont be able to change it back

Wow I joined just in time then! It let me use my hotmail acc. Its the only email address I have. What do you do to join if you have no other email other then a hotmail or gmail etc?

hotmail, yahoo etc are ok, its only g-mail that has been banned as thats where most of the spam comes from.

I would think that most ppl have an account with a an isp that would give them an e-maill addy so there is usually an option to the free e-mail addies.

The irony is that gmail used to be invite only, and thusly was much more effort for the spammers to use for nefarious purposes compared to hotmail or yahoo.
