Hi All,
Have just found this site and at first glance looks pretty cool. I have a 00 zx9 bought 7 years ago and i still rate it. I am starting to do some maintenance on it to cut down some costs. About 3000km ago I replaced the front pad and as of late when i jump on the front brake pretty hard a get a vibration through the lever and a noise is generated from the frony end. I guess the noise is the pads on the disc but can any one tell me why the vibration through the lever. The bike has 60000km if that makes any difference. Cheers if anyone can offer me some advice

Welcome to the asylum.
Problem may be a warped disc/s ?

And if they are still the OE ones they may be getting a little thin, making it easier to warp
When I replaced mine at around 60K they were under the service limit.

Discs/Pads, or head stock bearings. Test for head stock bearings is to lift the front wheel (centre stand or tilt the bike on side stand with help of friend) and turn the bars lock to lock - if the bearings ar knackered there will be a knothcy feeling as the bars turn.

I just had a minor service (18,000km) and told my mechanic about the same issue.
Prior to this I had 2 mates look at it.
One swore it was the brakes.
The other one took the callipers off and took the discs out and they were all fine.
My mechanic said my scooter has a roller pin and it is common for these to do this, he'll fix it for $350 parts and labour but it will not affect the performance of the bike in anyway.
It only happens sometimes for me so if I am rich enough I may get it done during the major service at 24,000km.
I hope this helps.
