I want to swap my Hornet for a Kawasaki...

...but can't really afford to at the moment

.
I have been cruising through Bikepoint looking at ZX6Rs, ZX9R and ZX12Rs, and even ZRX1200s. I'd thought of trading it in on a ER6N/Z750/older Z1000 for as close a changeover price as I can get, but still think I'd be out of luck. I think I'm addicted...or bored.
FWIW the Hornet is a nice enough bike, I've had no issues whatsoever, it just doesn't float my boat. In some ways this explains why I have only done approx 8200km since buying it new in December 2006, whereas all the Kwakkas I've had I used to ride with very little provocation, even in weather where I should have been driving the car

.
In other news I sat through my divorce hearing yesterday, should be unmarried from the 16th of February

No it's ok mate, I'm not really in a position to outlay much in the way of money

.
It's a 2003, only done 4700km and they want $9k. Extremely clean looking bike, would need surgery to the legs to ride it though, fooking short-arse as I am.
Thanks for the offer though mate, much obliged.

Alas I don't have $8k cash, and I have to get rid of a large red Hornet
It's a quite attractive light blue:
It's here:

I used to work with a guy who had a purple ZX-9R, I wasn't tall enough to get the damn thing upright off it's side-stand (although I'd like another go).

You don't need another bike Mick. You need to sell your car and buy my Subaru so I can get a Nissan Patrol.

Mick,
you are going to have to try sitting on an F2P.... the seat is a lot narrower than the old ones and let's your feet touch the floor a bit more.

LOL. I need to sell my Magna and buy a car with an extra seat...
...or wait another couple of years until my oldest has started Uni and is way too cool to be seen with his old man and his girlfriend.
The second option is cheaper...!

Mate that is a *special* 9...just gotta luv that colour...I'm only 5" 7" and my feet just touch the ground but its so much fun to ride you never want to stop so that's not much of a problem.

Yes, it's a bloody nice specimen of the mighty 9R.
I'm 5'5" and seem to be short in the legs rather than the trunk.
The Hornet was ridable enough when I first got it, but I had it professionally revalved by a mob here in Melbourne and it was lowered by approx 3/4".
Apart from the extra amount of each foot touching the ground an added benefit was that the suspension front and back is much more complaint than a stock...but I had to get the stand shortened by a guy up here though, it was too close to upright for my liking.
As I said the Hornet is a nice bike, not a thing can I say bad about it except it is a bit bland (or maybe that's just the way I ride it).

I test rode that bike when I was looking for a 9, it was a bit clunky in the gearbox but other than that went very well down the Monaro

An oil change and fully broken in and it might be a bit better...
It'd have to be the last surviving low km 9R on the market I reckon.

what will you get for the Hornet? Checked redbook/bikes sales?
