damn that'll be painful, and i'm talking about spending 5 weeks looking at the bike without being able to ride it not the surgery.
Nothing too serious is it?
Don't worry, you'll ba back in the saddle in no time. In the meantime if you want to make sure the bike stays operational you can ship it over here and i'll ride it for you

Good luck. Had mine done at the end of Sept. Should be officially back on the bike in a few weeks.
Snuck out a few times but don't have the strength for a decent ride.
He let me ride my wife's little lead scooter though.
Get a good physio and do the exercises.
Cam Donald got to do his rehab at Phillip island. Prick.

ps get a couple of ice packs and one of those heat packs you put in the microwave. heat is good after the first few weeks.

Good luck mate, and if you find anything interesting for your 9, let me know, they might discount if you buy a couple and i'd certainly be interested in a few "gifts" for my 98 model 9!

I've had a couple of shoulder ops and they suck. It will be a few months before you can get back on the bike. My last one I rode well before I was supposed to at about the 3 or 4 month mark but it was very gingerly and was a good six months before I had a decent ride (but I did a LOT of damage so was a slower than normal recovery). Then, I was always conscious of what would happen if I fell off for at least a year after the op. Pay head to the advise about the physio and your exercises as it will speed up the recovery process and get you back on sooner. Good luck with it.

Bear I broke my shoulder in 3 places requiring pins & 2 operations, 4 months with the pins then once I was clear for physio it was another 5 months before I could ride, the biggest issue was doing the physio, it sux big time but you gotta do it ....... all of it! I got slack at doing the exercises at home & paid the ultimate price now only have 70% rotation when I should really have 90% looking back if there was anything I would have done differently its the exercises. Luckily you are used to a regime so that might help you to stick with it. Good luck anyway.

I snapped my shoulder year before last (as in clean break). I was riding again I think 2 maybe 3 weeks after it happened. THEN they finally put me in for surgery on it which meant re-breaking, etc. Was riding about 4 weeks after that. You might get lucky depending on how much strength you lose. Maybe took another month after that and the bone was strong enough again for competitive sports. I'm guessing your case is more soft-tissue stuff? I think that takes a fair decent longer.
