Vietnam Scooter Adventure Ride

I’m planning a 2 week scooter adventure ride from the south of Vietnam (Saigon) to the north (Hanoi) starting mid-March next year. The flight itinerary is as follows:
· Departure: Friday night 12/3/10 from Brisbane Airport
· Return: Sunday night 28/3/10 at Brisbane Airport (arriving Monday early in the morning)

Once in Vietnam, the idea is to hire a scooter (~AU$7 per day) in Saigon and make our way to the north via coastal and mountain roads, stopping along the way at various picturesque cities and towns including some site seeing and day tours (ie the American war museum, U/G tunnels, long boat cruise, jet skiing, a visit to the Islands at Halong Bay etc). In terms of cost Vietnam is a very cheap country to tour, for example good clean a/conditioned room is expected to cost between AU$10 & AU$20 per night, food could cost between AU$10 & AU$15 per day and any extras is up to the individual.

I started planning this trip several months ago and only recently found out that the Top-Gear guys have completed the exact same trip on scooters and they made a DVD of it. Well I bought the DVD and it is extremely funny and the trip was very interesting.

There is 2 of us embarking on the trip at this stage and looking for interested parties that may want to join us (the bigger the group the more fun it should be). Everyone is welcomed, contact me if you may be interested in joining such a trip. :kuda:
