Anyone ever had any luck getting their speeding fine reviewed?

I got done doing 50km in a 40km school zone on the way home from work at Parramatta about 3 weeks ago on the Gt Western Hwy between Pitt St and Steele St. Just got the fine in the mail today, merry christmas!

I would've just turned left out of Pitt St on to the Gt Western, not noticed the school zone sign and sat on 50km when the speed camera pinged me just before Steele St. So I only would've been on the Hwy less than a few hundred metres when it got me, maybe passed one school zone sign, no speed camera signs.

Just wondering if anyone has bothered getting their fines reviewed in the past or tried fighting it?

I'm pretty pissed, fcuk i hate these revenue raising cnuts! I'm pretty weary around school zones, don't like speeding through them, I just honestly would've completely missed the sign and not known it was a school zone, hence why I was done doing 50km.

Maybe I should just pay the pricks and be done with it.

I'm pretty sure I don't lose my bike license because luckily I was driving and it's only 2 demerit points.

Unfortunatly a school zone offence is considered "a serious offence" and there will be no leniancy even for a 10 year good driving record....... The politicians decided that one & when its in the legislation no-one can bend the rules.

I'd go down the avenue of speaking with your local member for parliament and do it on the basis of the lack of "school zone indicator signs" when turning from the side st................

Nah, Dave. I've only got 3 demerit points, so 9 points left which is cool! I haven't lost any since 2007.

It's just fcuked to get done for speeding when you weren't deliberately speeding, you know? Like if I was just intentionally speeding along and a copper pulls me up, fair enough, I fcuked up, cop it sweet. But in this instance, I just was completely unaware I was in a school zone. I guess I should be grateful I was only doing 50km, not 60km.

And generally speaking, I got to stop speeding too. It costs too much.

Yeh, I know exactly what you mean. Half the time it isn't even intentional and I'm surprised to see that I'm over.

Over what exactly?
Over the headlight? The forks? The road
I keep seeing signs that say 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 but not one of them has any indication of what unit of measurement
they are refering to
If I go to the Supermarket however the signs alway say 60 grams or 60 kilograms
I dunno WTF the roadsigns are on about

Bike licence, car licence, you lose one you lose both!

What if you are on bike Ps and have a full car licence with no demerit points accrued? If you accrue 4 demerit points (enough to lose the provisional motorcycle licence) do you lose your car licence which still has room for another 8 demerit points?

Yeh but because I was in the car, I've only lost 2 demerit points. If I was on the bike, any speeding offense is 4pts and I would lose my riders license.

After this fine I'll have 7pts left on my drivers license, so I haven't lost enough points either way to lose either license.

Well that's how I'm reading it anyway, am I wrong?
