Stay Upright Advanced II (Cornering & Braking) @ Oran Park

What an awesome day! Despite the 40degree heat and hot winds and now the heat stroke that has followed it was a brilliant day (pics to follow!!).
The groups were well spaced and well matched so there was no need for overtaking. I was put in the fastest group (
what the!!) but turned out I was one of the faster riders LOL!!!! There was a mix of cruisers, tourers and sporties but thanks to the careful observation of the instructors PRIOR to the groups forming (ie. on the observation laps) so no one really was inconvenienced by any other rider.
I learnt HEAPS. I've always revved the bike on the down change of gear but I've never felt I could hold the braking steady while doing so ....so off the brake I went, then the down change blip and then back on the brake.......of course this upsets the bikes. Well thats now all sorted!!
Trail braking - seriously peoples.....whats the deal with keeping this little beauty a secret from me??!!?? LOL Never really been 'game' enough to try it before - what a gem that one is!!
The Stay Upright format is not as 'slick' as CSS but I found I got a lot more individual relevant feedback on my riding from Stay Upright. I found the CSS feedback was very formulated (ie. this is what to say after session 1, etc) but the Stay Upright guys really get down to the nitty gritty on MY riding and what I need focus on....not JUST what the lesson before has covered.
Stay Upright are moving to Eastern Creek for their courses for next year which was great to hear. They also have a new dirt bike course.

This course is not really for those that are experienced track junkies (so please don't flame me if you are one of those
) but would be ideal for someone who wants a bit of a freshen up of their road skills. Highly reccommended!
