and yet another question - my ZX6RR 2003
Riding back from Melbourne I compared my speedo to a speed check camera adn also after some discussion with a bloke on a KLR, it appears as though the speedo is out 10-15% - it is rading higher than I am actually going. I am suspecting this may be due to one of the previous owners changing the spraocket(s) for track work. Can anyone tell me how many teeth each sprocket should have so I can check?
Thanks again
Ben

Re: speedo inaccuracy
All speedo's are innaccurate, most are from wildly, to mildly optimistic!!! most bikes I have owned have been a good 7-10% out at minimum!! How many rev's is it sitting on at 100kph?

speedo healer is the answer if you are concerned.
and just beacuse the speed is out, doesnt mean the trip meter is out.
manufactures will always factor in a little bit of error in your favour to keep you on the safe side of the law, to stop court cases.

Re: speedo inaccuracy
Those speed check thingos aren't always accurate either.
I put the gps on my bike to check mine after my most recent ticket.
At 10km/h it is accurate, but for every ten you go up the actual speed is decreased by 1.

Re: speedo inaccuracy
will check the revs, have checked the trip metre againsts 5km trip metre checks and the trip metre seems to be out 10%. Guess I should get the GPS and check it first.
Thanks
