I've finally bought a bike.....woo hoo and I'm about to remove the side stand.

Are there any tips other than the obvious replies I'm likely to get...unscrew, remove stand, place on ground etc....?

As the bike cuts off with the stand down and in gear, any electrical tips.....

leave it on!!!!!

cut the wires running into the switch, join them together and tape em up out of the way.

leave the stand on, there's no point taking it off unless your racing it. and if you race it, take it off when you get it to the track.

its very handy to have it on there. 8)

Why do you want to remove it? My trackie has no side stand and it is a pain in the arse. The other's with side stands come into the pits after a session and put the bike on the side stand while they take their helmet etc off before they put it up on stands which is so much easier than holding the bike while you get the rear stand in position. A side stand doesn't get in the way, so I would just leave it there unless you are going to race.

I agree with everybody above, leave it on ... but if you decide to take it off can I buy it? I'm searching for a side stand for the Mutant ;)

yeah like you need more bourbon :D

yeah as wattie said just loop together the side stand switch and leave it on. It is bloody handy when you want get the bike on and off the trailer plus whilst your moving around the pits and scrutineering.

Just unbolt it if you ever race and put it straight back on afterwards
