Please allow myself to introduce myself (...)

Hi KSRC members ! hello.gif

I've found this forum from another member on the Z1000 forums.

My riding history is around 7+ years; started off with the ZZR250(EX250) then a RGV250, then GSXR600, R6 and TRX850, took a year off when i was O/S, and now back on a Z1000. Done a few track days & rider training on the 600's, but nowadays mostly weekday commuting and weekend curve carving. I'm planning to do a track day with this new bike so I can fully utilise its potential. :mrgreen:

The bike is a 2003 Z1000 with a few minor mods:

* Slips on Yoshi's
* K&N filter
* 626 front end with calipers and braided lines
* +1T rear

And a few cosmetic mods like the undertray, smaller indicators and Aprilia mirrors. The bike is due for the 24000km valve check & adjustments soon. Along with the major service, I'm hoping it'll freshen up the engine response as it's a bit rough at the mo.

I'm also on the Z1000/750 forum and Netrider forums, with the same handle.

http://www.netrider.net.au/forums/

I look forward to browsing/searching the forums and contributing to the discussions and participate in a few group rides and the "tag" game in the near future.

Here's a couple of pix of the Z.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. wave.gif

I'm currently residing at Macquarie Park and I ride to the CBD for work thru the usual Lane Cove road and Victoria Rd commuting runs.
I'm constantly amazed at how easy this bike is in splitting lanes. Without a doubt, it's the best way to get to work; always brings a smile to my face. :mrgreen:

Black seats: The OEM red seat and lower engine case covers were replaced with black equivalents by the previous owner. I'd done the same too if he hadnt. I'd rather have the inner wheels black, rather than red too. But I'm not going to bother with more cosmetic mods. I like it how it is now.

Since it's been raining all weekend, I got around to doing the airbox lid mod today and replacing the OEM fuel line, which is highly restrictive when removing the tank. Only downside is the cost of the hose & 2 clamps ($16.50 :shock: )
