I'll be keen for one of these. Wonder how they go with vibrations etc? I suppose if you mount to helmet not a problem but to bike/tank/screen/bars? Wonder if it does sound?

Alternatively... what does a non-aldi option cost?

Hmmm, Just did a bit of research and it looks like its the Oregon Scientific atc2k..

Its a good price compared to shops but heres a new version, the atc3k out now and can be had for about the same price on ebay.

yep, theres a review here.

Doesn't rate well in shock proof.. Might be ok on helmet but not on the bike.??

thats a good price (about what I paid 2 years ago for a newie)

I have one in the race car...its great (good resolution and clarity, no hassles operation)
but it hates loud noise above a certain dB level (like a V8 race engine at 7000 rpm  )

Mate you can have this one ...... we used it on the sidecar & solo's mounted in various spots & the result was pretty poor so you can have it or it goes in the bin
You know the old saying ...... you get what you pay for & these things are real old technology..... I think just get an new pod nano & strap that to yer bike would be heaps better :P

Rob, ya should have taken the $50 posted, he was stupid enough to offer it even though it was free to a good home, how is he supposed to learn if ya keep giving shit away? :)

We were interested some time back to import them, thus had about four of them over time, only to find exactly what Rob said, connection problems endlessly  so it was one of many of the product lines that ended up in the bin.
