Another newbie from Brissie Qld

Hi,
Thought i'd drop in and put in my two cents
. About a month ago i got my bike license (RE) and first bike a ninja 250. Since i hadn't ridden since since i was a kid i thought it was an appropriate bike to refamiliar myself with riding again. Anyway, have been riding around and getting the hang of the ride, however i am finding it kinda hard to get a line focus when cornering and finding that i am "slow" whilst cornering so basically i am looking at rides or people and or courses which can help me excel in this area. Like they say anyone can ride flatout whilst going straight, like to sorta get there whilst cornering, too a degree of course
. Anyway advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, and best advice I can give you is to do a braking and cornering course, they really do help

HI Tuan, welcome to the club, there are plenty of courses available that are not affiliated with just the compulsory rider training, not knowing your rough location makes it hard to give you suggestions but Stay Upright have been offering courses for all levels of experience for over 20 years. I would suggest do a course to expand your knowledge as the CRT teaches you the bare basics........... that & ride as much as possible

G'day and welcome
As already stated above, the Stayupright Course's are good.........
I would recommend you ride as much as possible and you will improve. The more you do something the better you become at it.

Tuan, Gold Coast City Council offer a course for $50 that gets plenty of wraps. Look it up on their website.

Welcome Tuan!
A cornering course sounds like a great idea, as does reading and talking to good riders. Be wary of free advice (like mine) because no one knows where you are at or exactly what you need, and there's a lot of self-proclaimed experts in the motorbike world.
Two cornering techniques to practice are:
1. LOOK WHERE YOU WANT TO GO.
Actually turn your head, and focus your eyes up ahead and where you are going to go in the corner and exit as it approaches...... Keep moving them out in front as you go around the corner.
2. ENTER YOUR CORNER NICE AND STEADILY, APPLY ABOVE METHOD, LEAN THE THING, KEEP IT LEANED!!!!! AND GET SLIGHT TO MODERATE THROTTLE ON
Unless you REALLY stuff it up
whatever speed you enter the corner at, it will stick! and it will stick better believe it or not if your get the throttle on SMOOTHLY.
This will also help you improve your feel and confidence on the bike in the corner and help you to guage what's a comfortable speed for you in corners.

I've just come off my RE licence onto the R last month.
Get out on a ride with some of us on the 24th Oct m8.
