I thought that a rookie couldnt ride for a factory team in their first year..did i miss something? Alvaro Bautista on Rizla Suzuki..

2010 MotoGP World Championship - confirmed line-up:

1. Valentino Rossi ITA Fiat Yamaha
2. Jorge Lorenzo SPA Fiat Yamaha
3. Casey Stoner AUS Ducati Marlboro
4. Nicky Hayden USA Ducati Marlboro
5. Loris Capirossi ITA Rizla Suzuki
6. Alvaro Bautista SPA Rizla Suzuki*
7. Marco Melandri ITA San Carlo Honda Gresini
8. Marco Simoncelli ITA San Carlo Honda Gresini*
9. Hector Barbera SPA Aspar Ducati*

* rookie

also:

Ben Spies will move to MotoGP with Yamaha for the 2011 season, it was announced on Friday.

The 2009 World Superbike Championship contender has agreed a new two-year deal with Yamaha which will see the Texan superstar remain in WSBK next season, before switching to MotoGP with Yamaha's satellite team (presently Tech 3) - as required by rules which ban rookies for signing for a factory team.

so...WTF?

suzuki has an exemption, because they dont have a satellite team... so they would never be able to access new talent...

I reckon Toseland will be out on his ear and Spies will be riding in GP next year - regardless of what the press are saying.

Just because Rossi is confirmed he is staying at Yamaha doesn't mean he is. Supposedly there are few issues in the camp and Rossi is not a happy boy or so the whispers suggest.

Stoner is still unproven that he can come back racing, though even when he was crook he was coming 3rd

Could be a lot to happen yet.
