maybe stoner really is pulling the plug permanantly if they are trying to get a new rider in the team.
i couldnt imagine that he would be too pleased to have that jerk with him next year.
atleast hayden is a nice guy.

"Ducati seems to think that with Honda tying up Pedrosa and Dovizioso, they can buy Lorenzo away from Yamaha, and ensure a top-talent on the team for 2010, in case Stoner’s absence becomes longer than 3 races."

You have to imagine how much Lorenzo would like to not only beat Rossi for the Championship, but do it also on an “inferior” machine.
I dont see that happening Rossi could start last and still win!

His loopiness will not be able to ride the Ducati it is an Italian bike that only Aussies seem to be able to ride, he could end up like Melandri riding undeveloped Kawasakis

It would be a big gamble for Jorge. The money sounds great but don't forget Malandri paid the last year of his contract out and is basically riding for free now. The Ducati has the abbility to destroy careers.
As for Lorenzo beating Rossi on inferior machinery, Well he can't beat him when they are on the same bike so why would he be able to do it riding a piece of shit.
Before Rossi switched to Yamaha it was a crap bike too. Now the Yamahas are the pick of the field. If I was Jorge I would stay with Yamaha and wait for Rossi to leave or retire in a couple of years.

I dont think there is any real point to any of the riders being Loyal to a team, its really just a job at the end of the day and should just take who ever pays the most

I agree there is no such thing in loyalty in professional sport from both teams and the individual but sometimes the big money up front can stuff up your career. What if Jorge takes the money from Ducati and then discovers that he can't ride it. His next contract would be for f&ck all.

I don't think much of Lorenzo as a person (like I actually know him

) he just grates on me.
You gotta admit though that he can ride - he's essentially a rookie and he's duking it out with Rossi (or is Rossi playing with him?). That takes some talent.
Is he worth 7 million? I don't think so - but I don't think anyone is - that's ridiculous money. But as others have said he has to look past the flash of money and think of his career. I've passed up higher paid job offers to stay where I am, and I think I made the right call as I'm happier where I am than I think I would've been elsewhere.
So no, he's not worth that money, but he's got talent. I think though that Stoner's the only one who can really ride the Ducati - look at Hayden and Kallio.
He should stay where he is.

Stoner was on an incentive based contract where I believe he got a million for each race he won (that figure could be wrong but I do know he made a fortune due to the race wins). Ducati changed it for the second year.
Lorenzo to go to Ducati why not, Hayden is being beaten by a showroom Kawaka, plus Hayden is a sook, typical American racer. He should team up with Colin Edwards they would have a book of excuses sorted.
