Jus heard on the radio there was a fatality today on the Putty.

18 Y/O man - Was a pillion, not riding .. - Came off and hit the death rail .. .unsure about the rider or more details.

Hope it wasnt anyone we know ..

EDIT: Found this online ..

A teenager has died while riding pillion on a motorbike in central NSW

The 18-year-old died at the scene of the crash after the motorbike he was on veered onto the wrong side of Putty Road, Colo, about 9.30am (AEST) on Saturday.

Police say the teenager hit a guard rail on the road, falling off the bike.

The motorbike's driver, a 47-year-old man, stopped the bike a short distance away and tried to help, but the teenager died from spine and head injuries.

A group of other motorbike riders were present at the scene.

"The rider was taken to Hawkesbury Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests," a police statement said.

Quite easy for a pillion to fall off is the rider loses control...

Another one bites the dust...

Keep it all level headed out there guys and girls...

I was at work when I heard this.........

It's not far from my place and as a member of the local Rural Fire Service I rang one of the other guys who went to the scene...... I was told they were called out to the scene to wash the blood from roadway....... Apparently It happened on a straight stretch of road about 3 or 4 klms south of the Colo River, up the top before you drop down to the river. There is a slight crest there but plenty of vision, so they were unsure as to how it happened or even which direction the bike was travelling.

Condolences to the family...............

You know we take a risk everytime we get on our beloved bikes and take part in this amazing sport/hobby/addiction it is one of the more dangerous activities that you can take part in and I guess it doesn't help that so many cage drivers have very little respect for it or for those on bikes, it makes it even worse when from what I have read this poor guy lost his life from what sounds like a small misjudgement/calculation on either the riders part or a cage that didn't even realise. My heart goes out to the family as well as prayers and thoughts and I just hope he died doing something he absolutely loved. My thoughts and prayers are also with the rider of the bike, it could happen to anyone and hope he doesn't suffer to badly with what he has to live with.

I guess the biggest thing is we can take note from this when we all get on our bikes tomorrow, please be careful, look out for each other and take care out there peoples, we're an amazing family and I know I for sure would be devasted if anything happened to any of you, please take care.

RIP fellow rider. Dizzi

absolutly agree Dizzy :( I happened to see a bike rider on my ride this morning, he had a pillion rider and he did the wheelie with pillion on back. Whilst this no matter what causes any incident it is always tragic, but it makes you wonder how there isn't more incidents when you see people doing silly things on an already dangerous activity :(

I wonder if it was a wheelie with a pillion, no other way to lose control on a straight..

RIP mate :(
