Police Media : Police seize five-year-old girl's mini motorbike
Posted by dman on 14/08/2009 22:01:03 (9 reads)
FIVE-year-old girl may have become Victoria's youngest hoon after her mini motorbike was seized at the weekend.
Police impounded Laney Frankland’s 49CC bike on Saturday afternoon when she was riding it at a Carrum Downs park.
The family must pay $550 within seven days to get the bike back, but even if they cough up it will not be returned for six months.
If the family does not pay, the bike, which they paid $400 for, will not be returned.
They say they have not yet decided what to do.
Laney’s mother, Tracey Frankland, said her daughter was hysterical when police took the bike.
"She was crying when the police were there,’’ Mrs Frankland said.
"They didn’t give any sympathy. I think they’ve just gone overboard."

From what "I" heard (rumours) the police asked the father of the little girl to stop... He made it very clear that he was not intending on stopping any time soon, that is when they confiscated the bike..
The dad then whinged to the papers about it...
Very unaustralian...
A real australian would have said "Absolutely officer" and packed up the bike and come back an hour later

No, the girl was riding it... the police asked the father to pack it up and go home... and he made it clear to them that he had no intention of doing that...

Given the fact they'd effectively told him to move on, and he told them where to stick it. I'm siding with the coppers on this one.
Dickhead.

I'm sick of the kids around here on their little fucken bikes. I don't blame the kids though, I blame the inbred, halfwitted, irresponsible parents. If you're going to buy your kid a bike to ride then make sure they have somewhere to ride the damned thing - and no, the public road ISN'T somewhere to ride it.

Can you tell that to the dickhead on my street yesterday hammering up and down in the wet on a WR450 - with no lights, rego, kit or brains in use.
