Nah dude
just get a 1mm drill bit and just slowly twist it with a slight bit of downward pressure and drill through your nail , it wont burn
you like a hot paper clip will and its alot easyer than trying to heat up a paperclip and force it through your nail.
Trust me the drill is the go , done it plenty of times myself

yeah, ive done the pin trick.
heat the pin up with cig lighter and get someone with very carefull hands to poke it through.
but the drill sounds like less chance of further injury

Ah, yeah, go the drill bit, and quickly before the blood under the nail starts to dry. You may even save the nail. If the blood builds up it will force the nail up. Hurts like shit. I've done this to just about every finger at one stage and even a couple of toes.

Ok Did the drill bit.......... Instant pressure release, but the blood keeps stopping or clotting, so i've gotta keep going in with the drill.

How do I know when enough is enough ?

That's the go mate, once you drill a hole the pressure releases and the pain disappears, I promise.
Once I shut a car door on my finger as I was pre-occupied looking at a woman

,
She was about 80 in the shade and ended up on a traffic island, her wheels were spinning in the air, so I stopped to give her a hand. I was looking at her when I slammed the door on the finger and it physically pulled me back to the car. I saw the stars and it was 7am... tears rolled down my face and the contents of my speech was not to be made public under any rating...

I think the old lady was even mentioned a couple of times
Went home, someone else had to help the old lady ( she might be still there

) had a chat to my mate who suggested the same. First I thought he was nutty, but my nail was throbbing with pain, so I gave it a shot. Instantly the blood squirted out and the pain was gone. I also managed to keep my nail.

lmao the amount of times i have hit my finger nail with something or othe (worst one was a flywheel from a 14ltr deisel v8) the drill bit was the easiest and best way......with the blood clotting and stuff just wait till the pressure builds up again then release it.

Edit done.....
Oh and it wasn't a hammer.......... It's going to turn out to be the most expensive and painfull piece of free junk I ever colllected. I lifted this cupboard out of my van and forgot to pull my finger out before I put it on the ground.

Go the drill bit! Put one through my leg a while ago. Needed a curved former to drill through the screen on the old FJ1100. Looked around the garage, then realised my leg was the right shape... screen on leg, drill on screen... blood on screen...
